Coaching Experience

Background

Jordan was given his first opportunity to develop young, aspiring athletes at West Ham United in the English Premier League. West Ham United approached Jordan for the role of Lead Academy Goalkeeper Coach in the Youth Development Phase in August 2013. His duties involved developing U8-U21 goalkeepers on a daily basis, and coaching First Team Goalkeepers Jussi Jääskeläinen and Adrián a number of times throughout the 2013-2014 Premier League season. Jordan was responsible for developing two young goalkeepers into England Youth Internationals at the U15 and U18 age groups during his time at the club.

Shortly after joining the coaching set up at West Ham United Jordan created an extensive DVD surrounding the misconception people have of the goalkeeping positional play. The DVD's theory of defending the goal was created by Martyn Margetson. The DVD was presented to all First Team coaching staff; including Sam Allardyce, Neil McDonald, Ian Hendon and Martyn Margetson.

They had nothing but praise for the DVD and the theory behind it, as they had already started to see the results of it through the coaching of Martyn. Shortly after the DVD was presented to all academy staff and the scouting network of the club, they had the same feedback as the First Team staff presentation. The DVD was turned into a template for scouts to use when trying to find a goalkeeper to bring into the club.

His role at the club did not stop with just goalkeepers, Jordan assisted the Head Coach of the U16 squad with tactical training sessions from day to day and was also there to assist him during Games.

Jordan decided to leave his role at West Ham United at the end of the 2013-2014 Premier League season. Subsequent to leaving the club Jordan continued his development of goalkeepers and players upon returning home to Calgary.

Jordan holds his "FA Level 2" Coaching License and specializes in Video Analytics. Research indicates that learning is greatly enhanced when using visual aids. It is proven that performance and retention skills vastly improve through visual reinforcement. This is why Jordan offers Video Analysis and Recruitment Packages with verbal and written reports, as it has a more positive effect of achievement.
